The Beginning

Music has been a part of my life since quite early days of my childhood when I used to scream out "Oye Oye! Oye O O Aa!" from the movie Tridev. My mother deciphered that I had a good voice and was handed over to Indian Classical Music promptly. And thus started this life long journey with Music.

I remember this un-deletable memory of my school life when I was on stage singing "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" and complete auditorium stunned to silence when a 12 year old boy imitated the Tarana of Legendary Manna Da! It gave me instant recognition and I was thrilled. I kept it backing with Lapak Jhapak and Albeli Naar too. Oh boy, what a feeling it was for a young child to be known for his singing!

The Inspiration

But then fate had something else in his (or her?) mind and I moved out of the town and was thrown to a distant land to race with 3L other kids (or sheep?) for the prestigious IITs. But it was these 2 years when I actually realized the potential of music in my life and how it help me stand out from the crowd and in the mean time also help me enjoy myself!

I landed up in BITS Pilani which was a cultural hub for extra-curricular activities which taught leadership, responisbility, creativity and what not apart from academic education to shape up a complete individual in terms of confidence, trust, respectability and persistence. Here I became a part of the Classical Music & Dance Club, Ragamalika and took initiatives to start Hindustani Classical and Ghazal Concerts in the otherwise predominantly Carnatic Classical setup and audience. Glad I was, to create a tradition from scratch which still continues to be a part of the cultural hub at BITS Pilani.

The Life

Time to hit the corporate world and I was in the bubbling city of Gurgaon running along with thousands of other office goers and doing routine job of 9-5 everyday religiously. While at BITS I had already thought of moving to the creative field as soon as I got that kick but before that, I was looking for a teacher who could polish my skills in classical vocals and soon started learning all over again. I worked for 3 years and in the mean time was as much a part of the DOSA (Dept of Spectators and Audience) at various events in NCR. In around 2011, I along with few more friends gave a Music Poetry concert as experimental stuff and it was good. Time was ripe and I had started moulding myself into that feeling of getting myself immersed into holy tunes of Sargam for ever and was looking forward to that day when it began.

The Journey..

I called it quits somewhere in May 2013 and said Good Bye to the Corporate Patta around my neck. The creativity was always a part of my everyday life and I kept singing and recording songs at my leisure. After calling it off from the routine job, I've given myself a fancy designation of Music Entrepreneur and have completely plunged myself into a world still unknown and to be explored through various paths.
